IMPORTANT UPDATE (MAY 10, 2017): Hi everyone. I am adding some information I received from one of the video viewers, Mr Ed C. He has some experience using this type of microscope with Win8/Win10 and he sent me the following information: 'When Microsoft pushed their win10 out to my win8 the change was made, even though I stopped the upgrade and reverted back. Some things were now part of my DLL. I can now access my camera, as can anyone I suppose who have had this problem by starting the camera app in windows. This is a fix many can use so as a support person you may be able to use this.
Frustration over. NOW I need to figure out why my hard drive devices do the same thing plugging into USB. They are being directed away from my pc to somewhere I have not yet figured out.'
Let me summarize; There are many models of similar looking microscopes on the market, however they are all imaging devices similar to your computer webcam. There should not be any problems getting them to work with Win8 or Win10. If you are having trouble getting the drivers that came on the CD provided with the microscope to work with your version of windows, then you can try deleting the software and then let windows load a 'generic' driver. This is often successful in getting the microscope to work.
Then contact the manufacturer to get the latest version of image capture software or find and download an open-source computer capture software such as AM-CAP.
